Dr Pat Wheeler has taught at the University of Hertfordshire since 1994. Her teaching covers twentieth-century literature with interests in British and North American literature after 1950. She teaches undergraduate modules on British and American literature, Science Fiction, Utopian and Dystopian Writing and an MA module in Working-Class Writing.

Pat's research interests include British women's writing, working-class writing, feminist science fiction and representations of dystopia in literature and film. She is currently working on two collections of essays on dystopian literature and film, and a collection of essays on the British novelist Pat Barker. She would welcome applications from research students working in any of these areas
